The Best Glass Air Fryers in 2026, Ranked by Buyer Reviews and Lab Tests
Last updated: October 12, 2026
The Ninja Crispi Pro is our pick, the Cuisinart ClearView the small alternative with a 3-year warranty, and we would skip the Fritaire. Six glass air fryers ranked on buyer reviews and lab tests.
Verdict in 10 seconds
- Buy it if you want the most evenly cooking glass air fryer with family-size containers (Crispi Pro), or a small one with a 3-year warranty (Cuisinart ClearView).
- Skip it if you want a proven, trouble-free record from a newer model, or a rotisserie: skip the Fritaire.

Updated October 12, 2026: we added how glass compares with nonstick, where independent testers agree and disagree with our ranking, and two new FAQ answers. Buyer data is as of September 29, 2026.
Our verdict: the best glass air fryer for most people is the Ninja Crispi Pro. For one or two people, the Cuisinart ClearView is the smaller alternative with a 3-year warranty, though it’s too new to have a durability record. Skip the Fritaire: it underperforms in the lab and in buyer reviews.
Glass air fryers are sold as the non-toxic upgrade: you cook in a glass bowl instead of a coated metal basket, and you can watch your food as it cooks. But the glass doesn’t make the appliance reliable, and it doesn’t make the food crispier. We looked at six glass air fryers. We’d buy the Crispi Pro, or the Cuisinart for small households. The original Crispi and the BOSWELL come with real caveats, the Crispi DualZone is too new to score, and we’d skip the Fritaire.
How we got here: we used Amazon’s own counts of what reviewers mention on six listings (about 10,000 ratings in total), read 77 critical Amazon reviews for the three brands we hadn’t covered before, processed 282 Target reviews, and compared RTINGS lab scores with reviews from Homes & Gardens and Prudent Reviews. We did not test these air fryers ourselves. Full method below.

How we picked (criteria set before we looked at the data)
- A real glass cooking container. A glass window on a metal basket doesn’t count, which rules out models like the Chefman Crispinator.
- Enough evidence. At least 150 Amazon ratings, Amazon’s topic counts, and critical reviews we could read or an independent lab test.
- Sold on Amazon in the U.S.
- Scored the same way as all our reviews: 30% build (what buyers report about breakdowns, glass and support), 40% performance (lab scores plus buyer mentions), 30% value (value mentions, capacity, warranty and price tier). How each part is scored is explained at the end.

1. Ninja Crispi Pro: the best glass air fryer for most people
FindorLabs Score 7.1/10Build 6.5 · Performance 8.0 · Value 6.5
RTINGS calls it “a better air fryer” than the original Crispi and finds that it fries slightly more evenly than the faster DualZone. It comes with 6-qt and 2.5-qt glass containers on a fixed heating base. Good Housekeeping’s lab also picked it as one of the two glass air fryers it recommends, alongside the Cuisinart ClearView.
| What the data shows | Result |
|---|---|
| RTINGS frying performance (out of 10, vs original Crispi) | 7.5 (vs 6.1) |
| Temperature range (Prudent Reviews) | 80°F to 450°F |
| Amazon rating | 4.6/5 (1,387 ratings) |
| Performance mentions positive | 247 of 264 |
| Reliability mentions negative | 23 of 87 |
| Target 1–2★ reviews: container not recognized | ~15 of 44 |
Watch for the container sensor: the Pro only heats when it detects a container, and that’s the complaint we kept seeing in low-star Target reviews. A few owners also report smoke, and Prudent Reviews measured it as the loudest air fryer it tested (67 dBA). We cover it in depth in our full Ninja Crispi Pro review.
Get it if you want room for bigger batches and a second, smaller glass container. Look elsewhere if you cook for one, or just want crispy food for the least money.

2. Cuisinart ClearView 4 qt: the best small glass air fryer

FindorLabs Score 6.9/10Build 6.0 · Performance 7.5 · Value 7.0
Buyers love how it cooks and cleans. Homes & Gardens cooked with it for several weeks and says it “cooks accurately, runs quietly,” with a built-in light so you can see the food as it cooks. Homes & Gardens says it comes with a 3-year warranty. It’s also the other glass model Good Housekeeping’s lab recommends.
| What the data shows | Result |
|---|---|
| Amazon rating | 4.7/5 (460 ratings) |
| Performance mentions positive | 181 of 193 |
| Ease-of-cleaning mentions positive | 79 of 80 |
| Visibility mentions positive | 42 of 43 |
| Value mentions positive | 27 of 29 |
| Critical reviews read | 17 (all of them) |
| · disappointing cooking | 5 |
| · basket doesn’t lock, gap at the front | 3 |
| · glass basket cracked | 2 |
| Oven temperature measured by one buyer | at least 50°F below the 400°F setting |
| Weight (Homes & Gardens) | 12.75 lb |
It’s too new to judge how long it lasts: its first critical Amazon reviews date from June 2026 and Amazon shows no durability topic yet, so its build score stops at 6.0. The cooking complaints mention limp fries, dry chicken and slow results. One buyer says Cuisinart told them the basket gap is normal, and one of the cracked baskets broke while it was being picked up to wash. Homes & Gardens says it’s best “for solo cooking, or maybe for two.”
A good fit if you cook for one or two and want a long warranty; not for you if you want a proven track record or cook for a family.

3. Ninja Crispi: the portable pod for one or two

FindorLabs Score 6.4/10Build 5.5 · Performance 7.0 · Value 6.5
The original Crispi is by far the most reviewed model here. Its heating unit lifts off and sits on a glass container, so you can cook, serve and store in the same dish. It has preset modes only, no manual temperature setting.
| What the data shows | Result |
|---|---|
| Amazon rating | 4.4/5 (7,013 ratings) |
| Glass containers | 4 qt and 6 cups |
| Preset modes (Prudent Reviews) | 4, between 375°F and 450°F |
| Durability mentions negative | 171 of 220 (78%) |
| Target 1–2★ reviews: unit stopped working | 21 of 103 (10 with the “LID” error) |
| Target reviews mentioning broken glass (keyword search) | 2 of 1,447 |
Durability is its weak point, as the last three rows show.
Testers disagree on this one. CNET has named it the best overall air fryer two years running (9.2 out of 10), for the glass you can watch through and the cook-and-store design. Good Housekeeping’s lab found it “wasn’t powerful enough to evenly crisp up wings, fries, or mozzarella sticks” and calls it better for reheating. RTINGS scores its frying 6.1, against 7.5 for the Pro. We still rank it third because of that durability record and because you can’t set exact temperatures.
The lift-off heating unit also has exposed hot coils, so you need a heat-safe spot to set it down. See our full Ninja Crispi review for the details.
Choose it if you cook for one or two and like the portable, cook-and-store design. Pass if you want to set exact temperatures (get the Pro).

4. BOSWELL 7.5 qt: the biggest bowl, with a reliability warning
FindorLabs Score 5.4/10Build 4.0 · Performance 6.0 · Value 6.0
If you want one wide glass bowl for family batches, this is the biggest here, and buyers like the bowl itself.
The problem is what happens after a few months:
| What the data shows | Result |
|---|---|
| Amazon rating | 4.4/5 (403 ratings) |
| Performance mentions positive | 83 of 97 |
| Glass bowl mentions positive | 20 of 21 |
| Cooking-time mentions negative | 19 of 26 |
| Critical reviews read | 30 of 51 |
| · unit stopped working or wouldn’t power on | 13 |
| · support hard to reach / bowl couldn’t be replaced | 6 |
| · clunky controls | 6 |
| · seller later offered a refund or replacement | 2 |
Failures came anywhere from one month to about 13 months after purchase. One owner says fries took almost an hour at 400°F, against about 20 minutes in their Ninja; you can’t change the time or temperature once cooking starts, and the minimum time is five minutes. We found no lab test or credible independent review, and it isn’t sold at Target, so this rests on Amazon alone.
It makes sense only if bowl size matters more than anything and you’ll keep your receipt and order details. Skip it if you want an air fryer you can count on for years.
One we couldn’t score, and one we’d skip

Ninja Crispi DualZone (not scored). In the lab, it’s the fastest of the group: RTINGS calls it “the better-performing air fryer overall” compared with the Crispi Pro because it cooks considerably faster, though the Pro still fries slightly more evenly and fits bulkier food. Its two glass containers can be set separately, and its fryer baskets have a ceramic nonstick coating (RTINGS).
| What the data shows | Result |
|---|---|
| RTINGS frying performance / cooking speed (out of 10) | 7.6 / 8.2 |
| RTINGS measured capacity (two containers) | 7.9 qt |
| Amazon topic mentions (we need 100 to score) | 67 (33 performance, 17 cooking performance) |
| Target reviews marked incentivized | 199 of 230 |
| Target reviews copied from Ninja’s websites | 224 of 230 |
That’s too little independent data to score it. If you want to try it anyway, check the DualZone on Amazon.
Fritaire 9-in-1 Pro (FindorLabs Score 3.9/10). It meets our entry criteria, but we can’t recommend it. RTINGS rates the Fritaire glass air fryer “sub-par,” with food that comes out “mostly either undercooked or burnt.” RTINGS doesn’t specify the 9-in-1 Pro version, but buyers of this listing report similar problems.
| What the data shows (Fritaire) | Result |
|---|---|
| RTINGS frying performance (out of 10) | 5.4 |
| Amazon rating | 3.9/5 (578 ratings) |
| Durability mentions negative | 33 of 40 |
| Critical reviews read | 30 of 130 |
| · rotisserie problems | 10 |
| · harder to clean (bowl fixed to base) | 9 |
| · unit stopped working | 4 |
| · plastic parts inside the “non-toxic” bowl | 3 |
Isolated reviews also describe sparks and a unit that switched itself on. We don’t link to it.
Glass vs nonstick: is a glass air fryer better?
It depends on what bothers you about your current one. Here is how glass compares, based on Good Housekeeping’s lab and CNET’s long-term use of the Crispi:
- You can watch the food. A clear vessel lets you check browning without opening the drawer and losing heat.
- Cleanup is easier. The glass goes in the dishwasher; on the Crispi, everything except the heating pod is dishwasher-safe, according to CNET.
- One dish to cook, serve and store. The glass vessel can double as a storage container; both of Good Housekeeping’s picks come with lids, and so does the Crispi, according to CNET.
- The glass gets very hot and holds heat longer than a metal basket, so keep oven mitts nearby.
- It’s heavier and can break. Good Housekeeping calls glass heavier and more fragile than metal, though it found its two picks’ vessels thick and sturdy. What buyers report about breakage is below.
On results, Good Housekeeping found its glass picks brown and crisp food as well as its favorite nonstick models, at about the same price. Its advice: you don’t need to switch if you like the air fryer you have. If PFAS is your reason to switch, check the crisper plate too, as we explain next.
Are glass air fryers safe? What to know before you buy
- Let hot glass cool before you rinse it. Buyers report cracked or broken glass for the Crispi, Crispi Pro, Cuisinart and BOSWELL (none among the 30 Fritaire reviews we read). Most of these reports describe the glass breaking while it was handled, washed or cooling; a few don’t say when, and one BOSWELL owner says it “just cracked on its own.” None of the reviews we read describe glass breaking during cooking.
- “Non-toxic” usually means the bowl, not everything. The crisper plates and baskets that food sits on can still be coated: the Cuisinart’s crisper plate has a ceramic nonstick coating (Homes & Gardens), and one buyer reports it chipping; the DualZone’s fryer baskets are ceramic-coated (RTINGS); and the Crispi’s crisper plate has a nano-ceramic nonstick coating (SharkNinja). For ceramic-coated baskets sold as PFAS-free, and what those labels can and can’t tell you, see our best non-toxic air fryers guide.
- Compare capacity by container. The Crispi Pro’s 6-qt container and the DualZone’s two 4-qt containers cook differently from one 7.5-qt bowl. If counter space is your main constraint, see our best small air fryers guide.
- Check the warranty and the support. Cuisinart offers 3 years (Homes & Gardens). Among the BOSWELL critical reviews we read, 6 of 30 describe trouble reaching support or getting a replacement bowl.
- Recalls: when we searched the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s recall database on September 29, 2026, we found no recall for any of the six models in this guide.
Bottom line: if you cook for a family or want the most evenly fried food, get the Ninja Crispi Pro. If you cook for one or two, the Cuisinart ClearView is the smaller choice with a 3-year warranty, as long as you’re comfortable with a newer model.

Frequently asked questions
Which glass air fryer is best for a family?
The Ninja Crispi Pro, with its 6-qt glass container and adjustable temperature. The BOSWELL’s 7.5-qt bowl is bigger, but buyers report too many units that stop working within about a year for us to recommend it first.
Are glass air fryers better than nonstick ones?
The best ones do: Good Housekeeping’s two glass picks browned and crisped food as well as its favorite nonstick models, and glass is easier to clean and lets you watch the food. But the glass is heavier, gets very hot and can break, and not every glass model crisps well. See glass vs nonstick above.
What is the least toxic air fryer?
Look at every part that touches food, not just the bowl. A glass bowl avoids a nonstick coating where the food sits, but many crisper plates and baskets are still coated. We compare materials model by model in our best non-toxic air fryers guide.
Are glass air fryers really non-toxic?
The glass bowl has no nonstick coating, which is the main appeal. But some parts can still be coated or plastic: the crisper plates on the Cuisinart and the Crispi and the DualZone’s baskets have a ceramic nonstick coating, and Fritaire buyers report plastic parts inside the bowl.
Do glass air fryers cook well?
Some do. RTINGS scores the frying performance of the Crispi Pro 7.5 and the DualZone 7.6, but the Fritaire it tested only 5.4 (RTINGS doesn’t say which Fritaire version). Several BOSWELL owners say food takes much longer than expected, and a few Cuisinart owners describe slow or uneven results.
Is the Ninja Crispi or the Crispi Pro better?
The Pro, in most ways: RTINGS says it cooks much more evenly, and it has adjustable temperature and a taller 6-qt container. The original Crispi’s portable pod design suits one or two people. Our Crispi Pro review compares them in detail.
Has any glass air fryer been recalled?
When we searched the CPSC recall database on September 29, 2026, we found no recall for the six glass air fryers in this guide.
How we analyzed this
This is a research-based guide, not a test of our own. Here is exactly what we did, on September 26–29, 2026:
- Wrote our criteria first (real glass container, at least 150 Amazon ratings with topic counts, sold on Amazon, same scoring rubric as our reviews), then collected the data. We added one rule during the analysis: to receive a score, a model needs at least 100 topic mentions on Amazon. Five models meet it; the DualZone doesn’t.
- Used Amazon’s own counts of review topics (not Amazon’s AI-generated summaries) and read critical reviews for each model:
| Model | Amazon ratings | Critical reviews we read |
|---|---|---|
| Ninja Crispi Pro | 1,387 | 44 one- and two-star on Target (earlier review) |
| Ninja Crispi | 7,013 | 103 one- and two-star on Target (earlier review) |
| Cuisinart ClearView 4 qt | 460 | 17 on Amazon (all of them) |
| BOSWELL 7.5 qt | 403 | 30 on Amazon (10 most recent at each of 1, 2 and 3 stars) |
| Ninja Crispi DualZone | 191 | — (Target reviews copied or incentivized) |
| Fritaire 9-in-1 Pro | 578 | 30 on Amazon (10 most recent at each of 1, 2 and 3 stars) |
- In total, 77 new critical Amazon reviews for this guide.
- Processed 282 Target reviews for the Cuisinart and the DualZone. All of them were copied from the brands’ own websites or written by product-tester networks, so we weighted Target less than Amazon. The BOSWELL and Fritaire aren’t sold at Target.
- Compared independent testers: RTINGS lab results for the Crispi Pro, Crispi, DualZone and Fritaire (RTINGS, Homes & Gardens and Prudent Reviews all earn affiliate commissions), and reviews from Homes & Gardens (Cuisinart, 2026; Fritaire, 2024) and Prudent Reviews (Crispi and Crispi Pro), both of which cooked with the products.
- Searched the CPSC recall database by brand and product name.
- Couldn’t access Home Depot’s reviews (access denied), and Reddit blocks our research tools, so neither is included.
How the sub-scores work. Build reflects the share of negative durability or reliability mentions on Amazon, the problems described in the critical reviews we read, and the warranty; a model with no durability record yet is capped at 6.0. Performance combines RTINGS lab scores, where they exist, with the share of positive performance and cooking mentions. Value combines value-for-money mentions with what you get for the price tier: capacity, features and warranty.
Evidence level: Medium. It rates how much independent evidence sits behind the scores, from the volume of buyer data, the number of independent sources, lab coverage and how recent the reviews are. It’s solid for the two Crispi models, and four models have a lab test, but the Cuisinart has only a few months of reviews and the BOSWELL rests on Amazon alone. It measures the evidence, not the products’ quality. How we rate evidence.
Scores use our fixed rubric. How we score.
